The Social Resources Institute (SRI) will host a forum in Beijing this Friday, seeking to answer the question "What happens when the Internet and social entrepreneurship come together?" Following a talk by technology commentator Wang Ruibin, representatives from three non-profit online initiatives — Internet Forest (previously reported on this blog), community translation website YeeYan, and philanthropy site One Family (link in Chinese) — will share their experiences in leveraging the web for "the greater good".
The forum will be presented in Chinese, and pre-booking is necessary. For more information, see the announcement on the CSR Global Resources Centre (link in Chinese).
Updated 2009-10-12: In case you missed it, a summary of the forum (in Chinese) is provided on pages 21–23 of SRI's monthly newsletter for October 2009 (PDF).
